DETAILED ACTION PLAN JUNE - SEPTEMBER

JUNE 16 - JULY 18

Pledge minimum 20 members from your institution to attend Fall Assembly on September 15, 7:00 - 9:00 PM, St. Thomas More - to win commitments from local law enforcement for negotiated solutions that improve relationships with immigrants, people of color and to set up, frame affordable housing action in winter 2017.

Name core leadership team (Clergy, Executive Director, 3 - 5 key institutional leaders) capable of organizing power within your institution in support of these campaigns.

Identify affordable housing resources within your institution:

1. Identify: Land owned by your institution suitable for affordable housing development.

2. Individual members of your institution willing to develop affordable housing on their land

3. Potential funding sources for affordable housing (Endowment, denominational, foundations) that you can access via your institution.

Create list of potential adbook investors - the top 10 companies with whom your institution does business, and your contact person within those companies.

CORE TEAM MEETING JULY 18

7:00 - 9:00 PM, United Church of Chapel Hill

Deadline for action goals listed above. Participants report on progress identifying resources, naming Team. All plan / train for canvassing / house meeting action. Please bring list of potential adbook investors to meeting.

Who Should Attend: Core Leadership Team (Clergy, Executive Directors, and 3 - 5 key institutional leaders).  

JULY 18 - AUGUST 25

Core Teams engage 600 members of their institutions, residents of the communities that surround them, and employees of major employers to test and refine issues. 

Top leaders meet with UNC / Hospital administrators, municipal government, Orange County staff, non-profit agencies, to understand their self-interest, determine land holdings, finances, and find common ground on affordable housing.   

Top leaders meet with heads of local law enforcement, district attorney, elected officials and others to understand self interest around public safety and strengthening relationships with immigrants, people of color.

COUNTYWIDE LEADERS MEETING AUGUST 25

7:00 pm - 8:30 PM, UU Congregation of Hillsborough

Deadline for action goals listed above. Report from meetings with local law enforcement, affordable housing decision makers, and canvassing actions. Plan strategy for September 15 Assembly.

PUBLIC ASSEMBLY SEPTEMBER 15

7:00 - 9:00 pm, St. Thomas More.

TURNOUT GOAL: 300 PEOPLE

Win commitments from local law enforcement / elected officials to improve community relationships with police. Frame, build momentum for affordable housing assembly in 2017.

Comprometer a un mínimo de 20 miembr@s de tu institución para que participen en la asamblea del otoño el 15 de septiembre, 7:00 - 9:00 PM, St. Thomas More - para obtener compromisos de agencias del orden local para soluciones negociadas que mejoren las relaciones con inmigrantes, gente no blanca y para establecer, enmarcar acciones para viviendas asequibles en el invierno del 2017.

Nombrar el equipo central de liderazgo (Clero, Director Ejecutivo, 3 - 5 líderes institucionales claves) capaces de organizar poder dentro de tu institución para apoyar estas campañas.

Identificar recursos de vivienda asequible dentro de tu institución:

1. Identificar: Propiedades de tu institución que sean adecuadas para desarrollo de viviendas asequibles.

2. Miembr@s individuales de tu institución que estén dispuest@s a desarrollar vivienda en sus propiedades.

3. Fuentes potenciales de financiamiento para vivienda asequible (legado, denominacional, fundaciones) que puedes acceder por medio de tu institución.

Crear una lista de potenciales inversionistas para nuestro libro publicitario - las 10 compañías con las cuales tu institución realiza negocios, y la persona contacto en esas compañías.

REUNIÓN DEL EQUIPO CENTRAL 18 DE JULIO

7:00 PM - 9:00 PM, United Church of Chapel Hill

Fecha límite para las metas de acción enumeradas anteriormente. L@s participantes reportan sobre su progreso en identificar recursos, y nombrar su equipo. Tod@s planifican y entrenan para la acción de sondeo comunitario. Por favor trae una lista de posibles inversionistas para nuestro libro de anuncios.

Quién debe participar: El equipo central de liderazgo (Clero, Directores Ejecutivos, y 3 - 5 líderes claves institucionales).  

JULIO 18 - AGOSTO 25

Organizar a 3 - 5 miembros de tu institución para participar con 40 personas en un sondeo comunitario enfocándose en vecindarios y proyectos claves en el condado, cuyos residentes son afectados por la carencia de viviendas asequibles y políticas discriminatorias. Todas las personas serán entrenados, equipados, y harán los sondeos en grupos, en fechas y horas predeterminadas los fines de semana. Vecindarios propuestos: Fairview y Gateway Village (Hillsborough), Ford Rd Mobile Home Park (White Cross), Royal Park (Carrboro)

Los principales clérigos y líderes se reunirán con administradores de UNC / Hospital, el gobierno municipal, empleados del condado de Orange, agencias sin fines de lucro, para entender sus intereses propios, identificar propiedades, finanzas, y encontrar terreno común en cuanto a viviendas asequibles.  

Los principales clérigos y líderes se reunirán con los directores del orden público local, el fiscal general, oficiales elegidos, y otr@s para entender el interés propio en cuanto a seguridad pública y fortalecer las relaciones con inmigrantes, gente no blanca.

REUNIÓN DE LÍDERES DEL CONDADO AGOSTO 25

7:00 pm - 8:30 PM, UU Congregation of HIllsborough

Fecha límite para metas de acción enumeradas anteriormente. Reportar sobre las reuniones con las agencias de orden público, los responsables de tomas de decisiones, y sondeos comunitarios. Planificar estrategia para asamblea del 15 de septiembre, y establecer un plan de acción para el otoño. .

ASAMBLEA PÚBLICA SEPTIEMBRE 15

7:00 - 9:00 pm, St. Thomas More.

META DE PARTICIPACIÓN: 300 PERSONAS

Obtener compromisos de las agencias locales de orden público / oficiales elegidos para resolver las preocupaciones en cuanto a prejuicio de la policía y mejorar relaciones comunitarias con la policía. Enmarcar, tomar impulso para la asamblea sobre vivienda asequible en el 2017.
