Opportunity to contribute to Hurricane Helene Relief, coordinated by the East Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Association (where Lattisville Grove and Lee's Chapel are members):
Message from Rev. Dr. George Crews, III, Senior Pastor of Lattisville Grove and Moderator of the East Cedar Grove Association
In response to the devastation of the wake of Helene in the Western part of North Carolina, the Executive Board and myself have been led by the Spirit of God to send aid to our brothers and sisters in the Asheville area and vicinity. There are two ways that we are planning to assist those that were affected by this horrific disaster.
1) First, we are instructing all churches of ECGMBA to collect cases of 16oz bottled water, cases of cleaning supplies and adult wipes to be sent to Western North Carolina. There are four collection sites that we will use to collect the water: Union Chapel MBC (Butner, NC), Henderson Grove MBC (Durham, NC), Union Baptist (Durham, NC) and Lattisville Grove MBC (Hurdle Mills, NC). The collection of water will end on Friday October 25, 2024, all donations can be dropped off at the collection stations at anytime before or on October 25. For collection times please contact the collection station closest to you. The water will be collected on October 26 and shipped to Western North Carolina that Saturday morning.
2) The second effort to assist in Western NC is in way of monetary donations. The total goal is $20,000 in relief, to be collected by Nov. 17. Please send your monetary donations to the East Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Association (East Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Association, P.O. Box 808, Creedmor, NC 27522), with "hurricane relief" indicated in the memo.
Finally, I would like to close this letter with Deuteronomy 15:10 NIV: “Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.”
