In the first half of 2017 Justice United organized major power and made real change on key issues in our community.
Leaders organized and won a campaign to ensure that hundreds of safe yet unlicensed drivers will have the opportunity to receive top quality drivers ed and will be eligible for a break on onerous court fees and fines that have cost households in Orange and Chatham County over $1.8 million. The 2016 housing bond that JU leaders played a key role in passing last year has supported the creation of 55 new affordable housing units to date.
2017 has been a year of smashed records: our largest action (turnout: 600+), the most leaders trained in a single month (81 in May), and a 300% increase in individual donations from 2016.
